Each school is invited to send one team to represent a country delegation, with a maximum of 5 students per team.

About the Conference

Part 1: Enacting global negotiations

As world leaders gather for COP31 in Antalya, TĂĽrkiye, 60+ young people will step into the role of international delegates, taking on the parts of 16 countries at the United Nations talks.

Through debate, collaboration and diplomacy, students will be immersed in global progress towards nations’ actual carbon reduction targets before trying to agree more ambitious climate action by 2030. 

Part 2: Connecting with local decision-makers

Part 2 connects students with local organisations and decision-makers to explore how climate action can make a difference in their communities, and how young people can help shape it.

This year’s focus question is:

What is Cheltenham doing to tackle the climate emergency, and how can we help young people feel safe, supported and able to flourish in a changing climate?

Activities include:

  • Climate Action Marketplace – meet local organisations working on climate mitigation and adaptation.
  • Climate Question Time – put questions directly to local decision-makers and community representatives.
