This comprehensive, practical and interactive guide for teachers and pupils explores how to support young people to think critically about and be able to make positive responses to the climate crisis. 

 The guide was developed by ICN and European partners during our Erasmus+ The I-CAN Project Thinking critically, collaborating sustainably and acting justly’.  

Contents

Part 1: Stormy Global Change

  • Useful ideas and approaches helping to build teachers’ confidence, knowledge and skills.  
  • Theoretical links and a ‘map-room’ of selected resources recommended by project teachers and partners. 
  • Reflections to help relate the issues raised in each chapter to your own experiences, school setting and values. 

Part 2: Navigation Tools

  • Step-by-step methodology to create a safe space for learners to explore and understand injustices and contention, dilemmas and complexities. 
  • Fun and practical activities that can be run by eco-groups and lead students as well as teachers.
  • Climate Action Log to track the changes as you build engagement in school.
